Introduction

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is entirely browser-based, so you don't need any additional software to join a session*.

Note: As of July 1, 2020 Blackboard Collaborate Ultra will no longer support these browser versions:

  • Native Microsoft Edge
  • Google Chrome version 78 and earlier

Update your browser to the latest version. Windows users should install Chromium Edge to continue to use an Edge browser.

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra supports the most recent stable releases of the following browsers:

Note: For a consistent experience - and to be able share system audio during application sharing - we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome. Participants can also use the Blackboard App to join sessions.

Note: *Moderators and Presenters using older versions of Google Chrome browser may need to install a browser plugin to share their screen and applications with participants. The most recent version of Google Chrome (83 and up) should natively support screensharing.
