Uploading a video assignment to Blackboard

Use Panopto Student Video Submission to upload your video to a Blackboard assignment dropbox. Don't just attach the video to the assignment as it may not be accessible for your lecturer to mark. This section gives you instructions on how to submit your video assignment to a Blackboard assignment dropbox using the Panopto Student Video Submission tool.

  1. To submit a video assignment to a Blackboard drop box, navigate to the assessment and feedback section in your module, locate the folder that your Blackboard drop box is in and then click on the name of the actual drop box (with the list icon beside it).

  2. When this opens you will be prompted to View Instructions, click on the View Instructions button.
    If your instructor has allowed more than one attempt, it may appear as a Start attempt button.

  3. You will then see the assignment instructions, click in the submission box to reveal the tool bar.

  4. To upload a video submission click on the + icon in the menu and in the drop down menu that appears, select Content Market.

  5. You can then select Panopto Student Submission

  6. This will give you three options to add your video to Panopto:

  • you can Upload your video if you have already recorded it and it is available on your device

  • You also have the option to Choose a file you have already recorded or uploaded

  1. Select Upload, you can then drag and drop your video onto the interface or click on โ€˜Choose video or audio fileโ€™ and navigate to where to saved your video file.

  1. Once your video has fully uploaded, click on the Insert button to begin submitting your video.

  2. Check or change the display name of the video and click Insert.

  1. Now you need to submit your video (see below)

Recording a video in Panopto

  1. Select the Record tab and name your recording. Select Launch Capture

ย 

  1. This opens up the video capture in a new tab, click on the red button to start recording (see Tips for recording video submissions).

  1. When you stop recording, youโ€™ll be taken to the review interface. Press play button to review your clip. You can redo or edit your video.

  1. When you are happy with your video, close the tab (after Panopto tells you to do so). The video will then appear in Panopto. Click Insert.

  1. Now submit your video (see below)

Choosing an existing video

  1. If you have previously uploaded or recorded a video, you can choose to submit this file. Once your video is available you will then need to click on the button to the left of the video and click on Insert

  1. You will be prompted to Insert your Content Market item (your video) and you can rename your assignment display name if you wish, click Insert and then Submit.

  1. Now you can submit your video (see below)

  1. Your video appears then in the submission box and you should click on Submit, to submit your video assignment.

  1. You will be given final message if you only have one attempt for submission.

  2. You will then get a chance to download your digital receipt.
