Uploading a video or Powerpoint presentation to Blackboard Assignment
Find out how to upload a video/ presentation to a Blackboard assignment dropbox using the Panopto Student Video Submission tool.

Preparing your file for upload
Check the format: In order to upload your file to Panopto Student submission it needs to be in a movie format e.g. mp4, .mov, .mpeg etc. See suitable file formats.
If you’re uploading a presentation with audio you need to save your PowerPoint files as a movie file.
2. Saving your Powerpoint as a Movie file
Open your Powerpoint file, click on File in the top menu and select Export
Then select MP4 from the File format dropdown selection
Then select HD (720p or 1080p) and click on Export.
Your powerpoint will have exported as a .mp4.
Check the size of your file
Make sure your file is less than 5GB. Keep your file size to around 50MB to 100MB per minute.
If your file is over 2GB use compression software like Handbrake or Media Encoder (if you have an Adobe account) to compress it. See File size and compression
Uploading your movie file to Blackboard assignment dropbox
Click on the name of the assignment drop box (with the list icon beside it).
Click on View Instructions /Start attempt button.
Click in the submission box to reveal the tool bar. Click on the + icon and select Content Market from the drop down menu
You can then select Panopto Student Submission
This will give you three, select Upload, you can then drag and drop your video onto the interface or click on ‘Choose video or audio file’ and navigate to where to saved your video file.
Once your video has fully uploaded, click on the Insert button to begin submitting your video.
Check or change the display name of the video and click Insert.

Your video appears then in the submission box and you should click on Submit, to submit your video assignment.
You will be given final message if it’s your final attempt for submission.
You will then get a chance to download your digital receipt.
