Using the Calendar

When you use the Calendar link in the Global left hand menu when you first access Blackboard Learn Ultra, you can see all the important dates in one place, such as due dates for assignments and any other important dates across all the modules you have access to.

When you access the Calendar link inside a module from the top navigation menu you will get information relating to that module only.

Instructions

  1. To add items to the Global Calendar you can click on the + icon at the top right.

  2. Select the Settings cog Select the Calendar Settings ( cog icon) button in the upper-right corner to choose the calendars you want to see in the Global Calendar.

  3. To add items to the Calendar within individual modules click on the + icon at the top right. all events and items created in a Module Calendar will roll up into the global calendar.

    When you create content with a due date, the dates appears automatically in the calendar.

  4. Select Day or Month to view one day's tasks or plan for the weeks ahead.

  5. Select Due Dates to focus only on upcoming deadlines.

  6. You can add two different kinds of events: events for your personal calendar, and events for your courses. Select the title of any event to change its details.

  7. Drag and drop events to change times and you can delete events that you no longer need.

Students should be advised that the Blackboard Calendar may not always be accurate for all students. Assessment deadlines in their modules will display for all , even if some are not relevant to all students. e.g. resubmissions etc.

 

You can add class times to the Calendar by adding a class schedule, this can be very useful for your students



To add a Course Schedule

  1. Navigate to your Blackboard Ultra Course.

  2. Click ‘Add course schedule’ (bottom of Tools and Activities left hand menu)

  3. Click the plus sign (+) next to Add the times for your classes.

  4. Choose the appropriate settings.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Your class will now appear in your students’ Blackboard calendar.
