Top tips for using Blackboard Ultra basics: what we have learned (March 25)

This session focused on the Blackboard Ultra learning environment with tips from the CDLE team based on common issues and effective solutions from this academic year. It covered how to add and copy content and tests, check accessibility of your content, choosing the right assignment type for your students. It also explored how to navigate the Gradebook, add items, hide and show marks and feedback and use calculated columns.

Assessment in Blackboard Ultra: Gradebook, feedback and rubrics (March 25)

This session focused on Assessment in Blackboard Ultra. It looked at Gradebook and the features available in Ultra for grading and feedback. It covered how to setup and grade Turnitin Assignments and Blackboard ultra Assignments and the feedback options available in each. It showed the different types of rubrics available in Turnitin and in Blackboard Ultra assignments.

Leveraging AI in Blackboard Ultra (March 25)

This session provided a comprehensive overview of Blackboard Ultra's AI Design Assistant. Topics covered include the simplification of course creation, the generation of content-based assessments, the development of rubrics, and the sourcing of royalty-free images.

This session focused on assessment and feedback practice in Blackboard Ultra, including Assignments, Turnitin, Tests and Gradebook functionality. It covered practical tips and lessons learnt from the first semester using Blackboard Ultra.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (Ai) tools in Blackboard Ultra

This session explored the Generative AI tools available in Blackboard Learn Ultra, covering the AI Design Assistant (content creation) and Ai Conversation tools allowing you to embed AI Socratic and role playing conversations within Blackboard Ultra modules.

An exploration of Gradebook in Blackboard Learn Ultra. This session provided an overview of the new Gradebook in Ultra. It focused on organising and managing the Gradebook for assignments, grades and feedback.

Using Panopto in Ultra - Wednesday 10th July 11am

This session introduced Panopto in Blackboard Ultra. It covered copying videos from your current Blackboard modules, dealing with common permissions issues and common Ultra/ Panopto workflows such as video links, embedded videos and playlists were demonstrated.

Gradebook in Ultra - Wednesday 17th July 11am

An exploration of Gradebook in Blackboard Learn Ultra. This session will provide an overview of the new Gradebook in Ultra. It will focus on organising and managing the Gradebook for assignments, grades and feedback.
