Announcements are a great way of getting timely messages out to your students. Students are alerted to the fact that you have made an announcement in the module area by a pop up box they have to close when they access the module. They also see it in the activity stream and within their Ulster email.

Instructions

Creating an announcement

  1. Access Announcements via the Tool Options bar

  1. Select the plus symbol or ‘Create Announcement’ to compose your announcement and decide whether to also have sent to your students by email as well. You can also schedule announcements for a time of your choosing

  1. Click on Save

  2. You will then be prompted to ‘Post now’


     

Announcements are course-wide messages, new announcements that are unread pop-up when a student enters the module and they can also be sent to Ulster email. You can see how many students have viewed an announcement.
