Checking your registration status

Blackboard is linked to the Student Banner records system and will only grant access to registered students (status RE in Banner) who have completed online enrolment.

At the start of the term, if you are unable to get logged into Blackboard, check your registration status to make sure your enrolment has been completed and processed.

 

Instructions

  1. Log into Banner Student system via the student portal and select the Banner Student tile.

    Alternatively, you can follow this direct web address to the Student Banner System

 

  1. Input your User ID and PIN:

    • Your User ID is your student B number and your initial PIN is your date of birth in the format DDMMYY.

    • Select the Login button.

  1. You are now logged into the Student Banner system. Select the "Student and Financial Aid" tab.

  1. Select the "Registration" link


6. Finally select Enrolment Status History link.

 

  1. Check your Enrolment Status History, is the code RE? The example below shows a typical new student’s Enrolment Status History.

The new student begins as EL, eligible to enrol, then ON, meaning they have started Online Enrolment. Having successfully completed online enrolment their status changes to RE, registered status, they will be able to login to Blackboard.

NB A returning student will be ER Expected to Return.

If your status is ON, you need to complete the online enrolment process. Make sure you have answered the security question.

Once your registration status is RE, Blackboard access automatically begins within in the next 24 hours.

Registered but still cannot log in to Blackboard?*

If you are a registered (enrolled with status code RE) student and there is no Network (Blackboard) password when you login to Student Banner System, or indeed, you have any problems with your password, please contact the Digital Services IT Service Desk who administer the password management system at: https://www.ulster.ac.uk/ds/getting-help/service-desk.
