Resetting test attempts

There may be situations in which you need to reset a student’s test attempt. This can be done by either excluding or deleting the attempt.

It is usually recommended that you select Exclude Attempt if you wish to allow the student another attempt at taking the test. You will then need to add an exemption for your student to retake the test.

It is critical to check the student’s attempt before resetting as they may have answered all questions before encountering problems.

 Instructions

  1. In the Gradebook, select the Students tab.

  2. Click the title of the test and the individual student attempt that you wish to reset.

  1. Select Delete Attempt from the dropdown menu.

  2. The attempt will be cleared from the Gradebook.

  3. The student can retake the test and be awarded a new grade.

Deleting a student attempt is final, and cannot be undone.
