Blackboard Tests

Tests can be used for both formative and summative assessments. Students can use them for a self check at the end of a topic to check their understanding where they receive immediate feedback, or they can be set up and the mark achieved recorded in the Gradebook.

 Instructions

  1. On the Course Content page, select the plus sign where you would like to add a test.

  1. Select Create, the Create Item panel will open

     

 

  1. Then select Test in the Assessment area.

  1. Give the test a title, then open the Test Settings by clicking on the cog icon over on the right.

 

  1. You can adjust details in Details & Information, presentation Options, Marking and Submissions, and Results and Feedback etc.

  2. Under ‘Content and Settings’ click on the Plus icon to begin adding questions.

  3. You can create a series questions and decide whether student get automated feedback on each question.

Ordering and Jumbled Sentence questions are no longer supported.

  1. You can set it to release to your students

 

  1. When you create a test, a gradebook item is created automatically. A test's score consists of the sum of all the questions' points.

 

  1. After you post test grades, students can view their scores on their grades pages or in the activity stream. They can also access a test, their submissions, your feedback, and their grades from the test link on the Course Content page and via the Gradebook.
