You can create rubrics from within the Gradebook and associate them with assessments later. You can also create a rubric when you create an Assignment or a Test. The guidance below shows how to set up a standard / quantitative rubric from within Gradebook. This rubric can then be associated with a Blackboard assignment, test or discussion.
Rubrics can be created within the Gradebook and also in a Blackboard Assignment or Test. Once created, rubrics can be modified and associated with individual assignments, tests or discussions.
Overall workflow for creating rubrics

Add a rubric within Gradebook
Select Gradebook.
Select Gradebook Settings (cog icon).
Scroll down to Course rubrics.
Select Create.
On the New Rubric page, type a title with a limit of 255 characters. If you don't add a title, "New Rubric" and the date appear as the title.
Select Percentage Range from the Rubric Type drop-down menu.
By default, four criteria rows and four achievement level columns appear. You can add, delete, and rename the rows and columns. Point to a cell to access the edit and delete icons. Select the Add icon wherever you want to add a row or column and type a title. If you don't want the new row or column, you can delete it.
Rename each Criteria to reflect your assignment learning outcomes.
Amend the percentage weighting of each Criteria so the overall total is one hundred.
Insert additional Criterion or delete any you don't need.
Rename the column headings to match the required levels of achievement.
Amend the percentage ranges of each level of achievement.
Select Save.
