This may seem like a very obvious starting point, but Blackboard is linked to the student Student Banner records system and will only grant access to registered students (status RE in Banner) . Your entire UU life cycle centers on your student registration status in Banner.

Check your Registration status

1. Go to Self Service Banner at: https://srssb.ulster.ac.uk/PROD/twbkwbis.P_GenMenu?name=bmenu.P_MainMnu&msg=WELCOME+Welcome 
2. Select the link LOGIN TO STUDENT AND FACULTY SELF SERVICE
3. who have completed online enrolment.

At the start of the term, if you are unable to get logged into Blackboard, check your registration status to make sure your enrolment has been completed and processed.

📋 Instructions

  1. Log into Banner Student system via the student portal and select the Banner Student tile.

    Alternatively, you can follow this direct web address to the Student Banner System

  1. Input your User ID and PIN:

    • Your User ID is your student B number and your initial PIN is your date of birth in the format DDMMYY.

    • Select the Login button.

  1. You are now logged into the Student Banner system. Select the "Student and Financial Aid" tab.

  1. Enrolment Status History.

The new student begins as EL, eligible to enrol, then ON, meaning they have started Online Enrolment. Having successfully completed Online Enrolment online enrolment their status changes to RE, registered status, they will be able to login to Blackboard.

NB A returning student will be ER Expected to Return.

Note

If your status is ON, you need to complete the online enrolment process. Make sure you have answered the security question.

Tip

Once your registration status is RE, Blackboard access usually automatically follows begins within in the next 24 hours.

The helpline is open 10:00am – 1:00pm and 2:00pm – 4:00pm (3:00pm on Fridays)

Registered but still cannot log in to Blackboard?*

If you are a registered (enrolled with status code RE) student and there is no Network (Blackboard) password when you login to Self Service Student Banner System, or indeed, you have any problems with your password, please contact the Digital Services IT Service Desk who administer the password management system at: https://www.ulster.ac.uk/ds/getting-help/service-desk.
