Blackboard is linked to the Student Banner Student records system and will only grant access to registered students (status RE in Banner) who have completed online enrolment.
At the start of the term, if you are unable to get logged into Blackboard, check your registration status to make sure your enrolment has been completed and processed.

Log into Banner Student system via the student portal and select the Banner Student tile.

Check your Enrolment Status History, is the code RE? The example below shows a typical new student’s Enrolment Status History.
The new student begins as EL, eligible to enrol, then ON, meaning they have started Online Enrolment. Having successfully completed online enrolment their status changes to RE, registered status, they will be able to login to Blackboard.

Registered but still cannot log in to Blackboard?*
If you are a registered (enrolled with status code RE) student and there is no Network (Blackboard) password when you login to Student Banner System, or indeed, you have any problems with your password, please contact the Digital Services IT Service Desk who administer the password management system at: https://www.ulster.ac.uk/ds/getting-help/service-desk.
