Blackboard is linked to the Banner Student records system and will only grant access to registered students (status RE in Banner) . In order to get access to Blackboard online learning and other University systems you will need to register by completing online enrolment for your coursewho have completed online enrolment.

At the start of the term, if you are unable to get logged into Blackboard, you can check your registration status to make sure your enrolment has been completed and processed.

  1. Log into Banner Student system via the student portal and select the Banner Student tile.

    Alternatively, you can follow this direct web address to the Student Banner System

  1. Input your User ID and PIN:

    • Your User ID is your student B number and your initial PIN is your date of birth in the format DDMMYY.

    • Select the Login button.

This example below shows a typical new student’s Registration history. A returning student is ER Expected to Return or for a new student Enrolment Status History.

The new student begins as EL, eligible to enrol, then ON, meaning they have started Online Enrolment. Having successfully completed Online Enrolment online enrolment their status changes to RE, registered status, they will be able to login to Blackboard.

NB A returning student will be ER Expected to Return.

If your status is ON, you need to complete the online enrolment process. Make sure you have answered the security question.

Tip

Once your registration status is RE, Blackboard access usually automatically follows begins within in the next 24 hours.
