Qwickly App

The Qwickly App allows students to check-in to a Qwickly session without having to locate the link within Blackboard Learn.

Downloading the App

The App is available on the App Store for Apple Devices and the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Registering the App to Ulster

When you open the App you are asked to select the institution/school name, type Ulster University

Logging in

When you select Ulster University and click Next, you will be directed to the Blackboard login page at Ulster.

Select the Login with SSO option which will re-direct to the main Ulster University authentication system where you will enter your email address and usual password.

Finding your attendance session

Any live attendance session, linked to your account, will be visible.

There are different check-in methods depending on the options that your academic team decide to use. In the screen shot below there are two live sessions which use self check-in and one which uses a QR (Quick-Response) code. The QR code session is the one with the square icon.

A QR code is a type of barcode that can be read easily by a digital device and which stores information as an image. In this case, the QR code is a unique link to an attendance session.

A note about QR codes

If your academic team has selected the QR code option, and this is the first time you have used the app, you may be prompted to give the App permissions to access your camera. This is so that you can use your camera to photograph/capture the QR code.

You must scan the QR code from within the App rather than directly through the Camera application in order for check in to work.
