Introduction

Within TurnItIn, lecturers can avail of a marking and grading tool online in a paperless environment. Once the post date of a paper has passed, students are able to access the marked version of the paper and view any grades, comments, marks, or requested changes noted by the instructor.

How to view your grade

Locate the folder that your Turnitin drop box is in and then click on the name of the actual Turnitin drop box (with the rocket shaped icon beside it).

Your submitted Turnitin assignment will pop up in a panel with details and information for your submission.

Tip: If your submission is ‘not marked’ you will not be able to view your feedback yet. This means that the post date to release marks and feedback for the assignment has not been reached or the instructor has not yet graded or marked the paper.

  3. The mark will now be available in the top right hand corner.

  • Click on the assignment submission point

  • There you will see a summary of your submitted file, similarity score, and mark

  • Click on the assignment title to open the assignment

  • You will see your mark at the top as well as feedback in the right hand side panel

How to access your Instructor Feedback and Rubric

  1. In the module area you want to view the feedback for, find the My Grades link in the module's left-hand menu and select it (Please Note: The module coordinator must make the My Grades link available in the module menu. A seperate My Grades link is also available on the Blackboard home page).

  2. On the My Grades page that opens, navigate to and select the Title of the assignment you want to access feedback for. In our example, the assignment is called 'Assignment One' (highlighted in red below):

  3. On the Review Assignments page that open select the globe icon to the right of My Paper:

  4. This will open a new Turnitin Feedback Studio window.  On the right-hand side of the window is the Turnitin Feedback Studio menu. Select the Instructor Feedback button (speech bubble icon highlighted in red below):

  5. Your Instructor’s feedback (if supplied) will appear. Any general comments or voice recorded comments will also appear here.

Please Note: Instructor Feedback is only released to students on the Post Date - which is set by the Instructor. Typically, when a student reports that they cannot see their feedback, it is because they are attempting to access their feedback before the Post Date.

  6. If a marking rubric has been used, you will see a View Rubric button (highlighted in red below). Select this to view the rubric:

  7. A new window will open showing the rubric. The rubric and any comments associated with it will appear. Each rubric will be unique to the particular assignment.
