Blackboard tests can be copied from one module to another in Ultra. It is also possible to copy tests from modules in Blackboard Original into Ultra Course View. If you have saved Blackboard Original tests as .zip files, you can import these into Ultra. However, if

If you have a test with a large number of unsupported questions or tests which have been created using other systems, they you can be migrated migrate tests, using Respondus, an external piece of software.
Unsupported question types
In most cases, all of the questions will be imported successfully, along with the correct answers and automated feedback. However, it is advised that you check each question to ensure that everything has imported as expected.
There are a few unsupported question types in Blackboard Learn Ultra. If your test contains an unsupported question type, it will be removed during copy/ import.
The following supported question types appear in a question bank after import:

Copy test from one module to another
This applies to tests in Ultra modules and Original modules
Copy tests from modules in Blackboard Original into Ultra Course View.
Import test saved as .zip into ultra module
Upload .zip quiz file from, for example, your device or OneDrive
To import questions from .zip file to Ultra:
On the Course Content page, select Manage Banks under the Question Banks heading.
On the Question Banks page, select the plus icon and select Import from file.
Browse to select files to import and click Open. Only zipped files are supported.
A successful import message will be generated for each question bank when it has been imported into Blackboard Learn Ultra.

In the instance that a bank has not imported successfully, the For most tests, you can choose either of the methods below to copy an existing test within a module or to another of your modules in Blackboard. A copied test is always hidden by default. You need to make it visible for students to take the test.

Copy tests from one module to another
In Ultra Course View you can copy tests from other Ultra modules as well as Original modules, just as you would copy other types of content.

On the Course Content page, where you would like the test to appear, select + Copy Content

In the Copy Items panel, choose the module, which contains your test, from the list of Courses.
Tick the green arrow beside the test that you wish to copy to select it.

At the bottom of the Copy Items panel, click Start Copy.
When the test has been copied, it will appear in the folder or area that you added it to.
In an instance that a test is not imported successfully, a message will indicate this and you can click ‘Learn more’, to find out what questions did not replicate correctly.

Import questions from .zip file to Ultra
If you have Blackboard Original tests saved as .zip file, e.g. on your device or on OneDrive, these can be added to a module in Ultra by importing into the main Course Content area.

Find the .zip test file, e.g. on your device or in OneDrive cloud storage.

Click Open to begin the import.
Your test(s) will appear at the bottom of the Course Content area in a folder named Undeployed Tests.

Check your test(s) when the import is complete.
Move your test(s) to another folder or area in the module to make them available for use.

A Gradebook item is created when you import tests into Ultra. Therefore, if you do not use a test in the Undeployed Tests folder, you should delete the unused tests in this folder, in order to get rid of unused Gradebook items. |
