Add a Gradebook item to return feedback to students

Creating a Gradebook item allows you to return feedback and/or marks to your students via Blackboard. This is useful for in class assessments or non digital submissions, with a gradebook item you cannot use a rubric. If you need to use a rubric please see offline assignments.

1. Open your module and click the Gradebook tab.

2. Hover your mouse over the gray line where you want the new column to appear and click the plus sign (+)

3. Click Add Item

4. Enter the Item Name (e.g., "in-class assessment")

5. Set your grading type (Points, Percentage, complete/incomplete) and set the Maximum Points
   
   

   Open

   

6. Click Save
