Getting access to your module in Module Manager 25/26

Staff need to use Module Manager to request access to a module before it becomes available in Blackboard.

Who can request module access?

PhD students (with 'B00' codes) cannot request access. Instead, they should e-mail blackboardhelpdesk@ulster.ac.uk with their B-code, module code, CRN and role.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Module Manager, and click on the Login with Blackboard button

  1. The new Module Manager works on the same Single-Sign-On (SSO) as Blackboard, so you may need to log in to Blackboard first

For security reasons you will be logged out of the app after 5 minutes of inactivity. The maximum length of any session is 15 minutes after which you will be automatically logged out.

  1. Then click on the Module Access button

Check the CRN of the module.

There may be several versions of the same module code; use the CRN or campus/semester to confirm your selection. There is also a flag that tells you if a module is Live or a Resit.

If you can’t see your module listed, check the year and type of module.

The Module Manager defaults to the 2025/26 academic year, you can also select a previous academic year to access earlier versions of the module using the Select Academic Year drop-down.

Still can’t see your module?

It may be a Teaching Support Area (TSA) or a Programme Support Area (PSA). TSAs are often used for multiple cohorts associated with a single CRN, PSAs are often used for induction modules.

Check your Courses list in Blackboard, there will be a code above the module name beginning psa_ or tsa_
