Getting access to your module in Module Manager 25/26
Staff need to use Module Manager to request access to a module before it becomes available in Blackboard.
Who can request module access?
Staff members with E-Codes
Associate staff members with A-Codes (see guide on setting up A-codes)
PhD students (with 'B00' codes) cannot request access. Instead, they should e-mail blackboardhelpdesk@ulster.ac.uk with their B-code, module code, CRN and role.
Instructions
Navigate to the Module Manager, and click on the Login with Blackboard button
The new Module Manager works on the same Single-Sign-On (SSO) as Blackboard, so you may need to log in to Blackboard first
For security reasons you will be logged out of the app after 5 minutes of inactivity. The maximum length of any session is 15 minutes after which you will be automatically logged out.
Then click on the Module Access button
You will be taken to the Request Access screen.
Enter your Module code e.g. ABC123 or CRN e.g. 54321 into the Enter Module Details text box.
Select your module from the drop-down (25/26 modules display as default)
Check the CRN of the module.
There may be several versions of the same module code; use the CRN or campus/semester to confirm your selection. There is also a flag that tells you if a module is Live or a Resit.
Select the Access Level you require from the dropdown menu
… and press Enrol (if you select the wrong version of your course, select the Reset button and enter the module code again)
… or if the button states Request, it means Limit Access has been activated. Click on Request, you will need to await the person who has activated Limited access to approve your request
Limit Access
Only select Limit Access if you want to prevent other staff members getting access to your course.
If you activate have Limited access you’ll need to manually approve Instructor requests. When you login to Module Manager, you’ll see any outstanding requests:
Go to Pending Requests
