Use Panopto to quickly record a welcome video for your module in Blackboard through your browser. Recording your video using Panopto allows you to review, redo and edit your video submissionsand embed it in your course content all within teh Blackboard learning environment.

Recording a video in Panopto

  1. Access your Panopto course folder, this is the folder for all the Panopto video associated with your module. Saving your file in here ensures that anyone with access to the course will automatically have access to the videos in this folder.

In Details and Actions, click on View Course and Institution tools

  1. Selecting Edit will take you into the Panopto video-editor, the highlighted scissors means your video is in edit mode.

You can click and drag on the timeline to select the parts of the video you wish to remove, the greyed out segments will be removed. Use the play button to review your edits.

7. When you are happy with your edits, select Apply at the top and then OK.

Your file should will automatically appear in the course Panopto folder:

  • By default the video sharing settings will be Restricted e.g. only available to those with access to the course, if you plan to share the video between modules set the sharing settings to Your organisation see information on Sharing Panopto video
